Also note that Uncut has "Post To Wire" in its top 150 albums of the decade - at No 42. Magazine describes it as "a fractured narrative about disconsolate souls driven to the dark margins of American life, where desperation lurks unchecked."

Praising RF is music to my ears, and then some.

I think a fee tracks from "Winnemucca" were my first introduction to them and I was hugely impressed. Then, to my surprise, I discovered they were due to play the Darvel Music Festival - the Darvel what? That was what I asked myself.

However, I made contact with the good folks of darkest East Ayrshire (kidding) got tickets for RF and thereafter forged an alliance and real friendship with the Festival organisers and a continuing commitment to RF. Having met the guys a few times, I really believe they deserve the success, recognition and reputation they now enjoy both live and on record.

You are right - The Fitzgerald and Thirteen Cities can be hard at the outset, but they are truly moving pieces of work. And you're also right when you credit the whole band for the sound without which Willy's lyrics might be less haunting and effective.

RF are great.
